Please consider joining the Louisiana Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (LACDL) as a “Student Member” for only $10 a year! LACDL is the only professional association of counsel devoted exclusively to the profession of criminal defense. Our mission is to promote a fair, accurate and humane criminal justice system through education, advocacy and the development of effective and professional defense lawyers.
LACDL’s membership consists of over 600 professional criminal defense attorneys, which will give you the opportunity to connect and meet with potential employers, mentors and peers.

- CLE Seminar Discounts, LACDL sponsors four to seven CLE seminars each year that are discounted or FREE to student members. The seminars feature practitioners of contemporary trial tactics along with state and nationally recognized experts to discuss legal issues challenging the criminal defense bar. This provides a unique opportunity to gain FREE education and network with current cirminal defense lawyers.
- Newtworking, LACDL partners with student organizations to hold networking receptions between students and local attorneys. With over 600 member, these networking events provided a chance to connect with potential employers, mentors and peers.
