Please consider joining the Louisiana Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (LACDL) as a “Student Member” for only $40 a year! LACDL is the only professional association of counsel devoted exclusively to the profession of criminal defense. LACDL’s membership consists of over 400 professional criminal defense attorneys, which will allow you to connect and meet with potential employers, mentors, and peers.
CLE Seminar Discounts, LACDL sponsors four to seven CLE seminars each year that are discounted or FREE to student members. The seminars feature practitioners of contemporary trial tactics along with state and nationally recognized experts to discuss legal issues challenging the criminal defense bar. This provides a unique opportunity to gain a FREE education and network with current criminal defense lawyers.
- Networking, LACDL partners with student organizations to hold networking receptions between students and local attorneys. With over 600 members, these networking events provided a chance to connect with potential employers, mentors, and peers.
- Membership, LACDL recognizes the importance of our students to carry on criminal defense law in the future. A membership with LACDL allows students to learn about the profession and provides useful information with benefits such as Committee Opportunities, Membership Directory, Membership Updates, Personalized Member Profile, and more!
- Active Participation, LACDL student members are encouraged to participate in our working groups and committees that focus on practices such as Legislation, Amicus, Education, Public Defense, and more.
